What do I need?
- 175g butter
- 8 tbsp golden syrup
- 80g light soft brown sugar
- 345g oats
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
- 1 large apple, grated
How do I make it?
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Line the bottom of a 23cm square tin with baking paper and grease the sides.
- Put the butter, syrup and sugar in a pan over a low heat and stir until butter has melted and sugar is dissolved. Increase heat and bring mixture to boil, then remove from hob.
- Put the oats, seeds and apple in a bowl, pour over the syrup mix and stir together with a wooden spoon.
- Put the mixture into the tin and level out with the spoon. Bake for 25 minutes until golden.
- Cut into 16 pieces and leave to cool in tin. Store in airtight container.
