* Makes 4 mini pizzas

What do I need?

  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 2 tsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 2 small round pitta breads
  • 50 g grated Cheddar cheese
  • Ham, sweetcorn, peppers, sliced spring onions, cherry tomatoes, sliced olives

How do I make it?

  1. Preheat the grill to high. Fry the onion in oil for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Then stir in the tomato puree, ketchup
  2. and water.
  3. Split the pittas in half and toast lightly until crisp. Divide the tomato base between the pittas and get your child to spread it out right to the edges with the back of a spoon.
  4. Your child can then scatter the grated Cheddar cheese over the tomato bases.
  5. Now ask your child to choose their favourite toppings and place them on top of the cheese. They can make a pattern or face.

Tasty tip

The pittas are easier to split if they are warmed a little first.
